Is this for me?

If your work is related to designing, building or running some kind of software, and you want to improve your public speaking, this workshop is for you.

Details

Based on a talk you have given recently, we review the narrative structure of the talk, consider the pace and rhythm, and work on the slides. We then practise some handy speaking techniques. The workshop ends with talk showcases from each of the attendees.

– 09:30 – introductions and overview
– 10:00 – narrative structure
– 11:00 – pace and rhythm + slides
– 12:30 – lunch
– 13:30 – speaking techniques
– 15:00 – talk showcases
– 16:30 – close

The workshop is collaborative and interactive – please expect to share experience and work with others in the group. Your talk will be better for it!

Food & drink

We provide tea/coffee and a light lunch (sandwiches & fruit).

What to bring

Please bring your own laptop for slides (or pad of A4 paper if you prefer), and some details of things you have recently worked on.
